Stiga the Black Barbarian is using his Exotic Weapons skill to wield a fighting chain in combat. The following stats apply only to weighted chains specifically designed to be used in combat.

Fighting Chain
Power 2, Add 2, VA -, Slow, Longest weapon
May Lock and Strike, May Not Great Strike, No Shield Defense (as flail/chain weapon)

Lock and Strike (vs Natural Defenses Agility) -- after hitting his opponent a character with the Exotic Weapons or Chain Fighting skill may allocate his extra successes to a Lock action and the Strike.

For example, if Stiga got 5 successes on an Ob 2 Lock and Strike, Dro could put 2 successes into Lock and 1 into Strike (to aim the location of the Lock). His opponent would test his Natural Defenses Agility to resist. Meeting the obstacle causes an Incidental hit as per the standard rules.

This action does not suffer the penalties for Locking at Optimal or Extreme striking distance.

I think you just spawned the dark troll Naithcarch the Eruilhûg uin Deleb Ârtorog [aka Gorefang first servant of the loathsome troll king.] Who wields a large heavy chain forged in fire and ash.

Can you throw with this lock?

Good clarification, you may only PULL (which is a PUSH action, but done toward the chain wielder).

I was thinking more of a ::YANK!! AAAAAH CRUNCH::, but pull will do

Love chains: so please excuse me I if am talking bananas.

Nutty idea 1: jump pass you opponent or beside him at a distance away, use physically a lever action while using a whipping action with your body to move them to knock them backwards

Nutty Idea 2: raise the chain and pull it down in a pulley action quickly for a knockdown. The you got a lock on the opponent, now you have a poor mark that has to have an action to get up and break the lock while you are standing up and have an easy evade while he is rising allowing a great strike to be prepared. (I think...)

I will try these out with some of my more nutty unsavory types I know with a light plastic set of links, or some other safe solution like knotted rope and some neck protection or something because this is all theoretical. If you don't think it is plausible then by all means some one contradict me before I buy the revision in a few weeks and start making my players mince meat like I did with the scythe wielding cultist.

And yes I am a little on the wild side.

Concievably all of the things you suggested could work.

A) Make a Trait
B) Make a Chain Based Martial Art
C) Allow it on a case by case basis but have a higher difficulty.

something I was thinking:

Chains aren't spider webs or nets or snakes. Therefore, Fighting Chain Locks should be limited to 2D maximum.
