Don't keep me in suspense people! Those of you that are looking at the Duel of Wits for the first time, share your impressions!

Tauntingly yours,

The DoW seems like a cool way of playing out arguments and debates indeed. As a GM I feel it has the chance of lessening my burden somewhat. With the mechanics I get a lot of help to improvise the responses of NPCs -- I don't have to thoroughly examine their philosophical standpoint before a debate (even if it helps if I do). Instead I can determine their mindset and what they want to accomplish and then let the dice do the job. It also helps in giving sharp PCs an edge and likewise giving dumb PCs a hard time without relying only on how the player acts. In short: it looks great! If I'm given the chance, I'll try it out this Sunday when we game.

Here are some thoughts:

* Counters, Countered By and Defends against...
Counters and Defends Against seem to be the same thing. Please explain the difference. It seems like an unneccesary distinction. I see the difference in the Feint move for sure, but why use categories (like Counters and Defends against) if it potentially means a different thing for every move? I'd settle with just listing what moves an action is good against and then describe what it does against them if it triggers anything else than a versus test.

As usual, I'm going to get good answers that shut me up, but then I'll be wiser at least. :)
