Hi Folks,
I'm going to run this like a mini-con. Schedule is as follows:
Thursday
Party begins at 5:55 pm (05.05.05 @ 5:55 pm) and goes until whenever.
The party will be catered. We'll also have some Mariokart and Halo to bash each other about with. But the main focus of the party is to celebrate the revision and share geeky rpg stories.
Friday
Day time: Out of towners go out to lunch with Luke. I show you around the city a bit.
5 pm: Luke has to got to work. Sorry! Thor, Pete, and Dro will (hopefully) be available to host games at GHQ or to take you out to the movies.
10 pm to dawn: Rock 'em sock 'em Orc-bots! Or something. Competitive melee brawls going on until we actually want to fight each other.
Alternately, if we have enough players I will run The Gift and/or Poisonous Ambition for those of you who haven't had the chance to play those games at cons.
Saturday
Lunch/brunch at one of our fine New York dining establishments. Food will be good, I promise!
Saturday afternoon/evening: Luke runs a Nest of Webs, the new 20 person BW demo. Sign up will be required. If we get more than 20 people, we'll give priority to the out of towners and roll other folks over into other cool demos.
I'll try to have this even catered, too.
Post Nest of Webs: Food and more fightin' if we can stand it.
Sunday
Go home, you deadbeats! We'll have a good bye breakfast at a local diner.
Accomodations
GHQ can sleep three extras on beds (with two folks sharing a big futon). This will be given to folks on a first come/first serve basis. So claim dibs now.
If you would like to book a hotel room, let's coordinate here so rooms can be shared. NYC accomodations ain't cheap.
Location
We're in the Midtown/Chelsea/West Side area. The party and events will be held at 28th street and 7th avenue. That's the coordinates for GHQ. (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=TJASRup_0TrEyYc5.jexqYMVKZjRgJ3TkI0-&csz=New+York%2C+NY+10001-6123&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=)
There are parking lots on the street, but they ain't cheap. You may park cars for free -- without fear of being towed -- in front of my apartment from Friday night at 7 pm to Monday morning at 6 am.
Transportation in dah City
GHQ is conveniently located near the 1/9/2/3, N/R/Q/W, 4/5/6, F/D/B and A/C/E subway lines. Yes, that's nearly every line in NYC.
Therefore, you can take the subway from JFK or LGA airports and emerge a few blocks from my house. I do it all the time.
Newark Airport is also accessible by coach bus (http://www.coachusa.com/sightseeingusa.cfm?tour_id=779&mode=tour_detail&location_id=1126). It's about 45 minutes to an hour ride. Very convenient, but it costs $12. I've done it a bunch of times.
RSVP
Please let me know if you plan on attending.
Any questions?
