So should we have another BurningCon this fall?

Though perhaps this year it can be somewhere that isn't circling the ass end of nowhere?

If you do, I'd love to be there!

I plan to be in NY during the weekend of Comic Con again, so if they coincide, double bonus. If not... well it's only a 70$ train ride away.

If it's not on a date that conflicts with a bigger con or something, then it's on in a way similar to a big monkey who throws barrels.

If this became a serious thing, I would try to go. I've just started trying to figure out if I can afford to go to GenCon this year. Probably not, which likely means no cons for me this year since Forge Midwest conflicts with my vacation to London.

101010 was blessedly cheap (comparatively). It's a very real possibility I could swing that again.

How soon do you think you'd make a determination, Luke? Even if I decide I can afford GenCon, I definitely couldn't afford both and I'd prefer another BWCon honestly.

No, see, do it somewhere in the middle of the country. That way, everyone (in the US at least), at most, has to travel halfway across the country.

I dunno.. somewhere like Kansas City, maybe? That's pretty central...

Stupid question time: How committed are you to a 11/11 date, Luke? Is it purely symbolic or could the actual date of the con be different from the 11th of November? Kelly has thrown a real spanner in the works by reminding me that we're heading to Vegas this year and the weekend could be 'tacked on'.

Actually, I just realized that you've planned this one quite well again, Luke. The 11th is Remembrance Day, which means Remembrance Week for me. I'm off that whole week leading up to the Friday, so I could actually aim to head down on the Weds or Thurs and get a bit more out of the trip.

Alright. Count me in as optimistic. Damn you, peer pressure!

I would love to come back to NY for this (spent the last 10 years in Brooklyn and just moved to KC) but its very close to two holidays. I would wonder who will be able to swing travel on that weekend then 2 weeks later for thanksgiving (state siders), then the next month for those who celebrate xmas.

Right, but if you go from where you are to where I am, how much of this country have you actually crossed? Though you're right, you are too far south, so I'll revise my initial heckling to "the country you're halfway across is the Pacific Ocean."

There's always the option of setting up a Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/). I've been seeing more and more of them lately and it's a pretty great idea. And if it's too late at this point in the year, it's always worth considering in the future perhaps.
