I started out my Monday night group as a bunch of peasant kids (in another system) and this worked great. This group really is working their way up from the very bottom and in future posts you will see how they progress.

But my question is, what are the experiences of other GMs of BW: Do your players make peasant characters?

I could see a really cool adventure where a new local lord starts making better use of his peasantry :)

Please chime in.

some of the best characters ever to appear in my games started as "peasants". They usually aren't straight "Peasant Born, Farmer", but are "Born Peasant" characters with no Noble Born paths and no weapons skills.

The character development is just plain amazing. They are completely different people after the campaign is over.
