Haven't seen a thread for this and i didn't want to read through 50 pages of the Preorder thread to look for this info.

So, any idea when this will be up for order in the BW shop?

I want to give you my money...so I hope you'll want to take it soon :D

Ok, friends - the BWGold Pre-Orders are finally fulfilled on this end!
There are a few outstanding folks who haven't paid their additional postage invoices. If you're reading this, please pay them so I can fulfill your orders!
If anyone still feels like there's an issue with their order, please email me: andyaction@andyactionfulfillment.com
Thanks so much for your endless patience and understanding.
So sorry about the delays, mix-ups, refunds and general lack of preparation on our part.

I don't know if anyone else got this issue but... if your Sheets zip file reports as broken, try and redownload it. I had to do this 4 times.

If you want to check, the sane file is 1.5MB big and has this md5: c87925caa03a84590d8731413de0a449

Cave Troll Update:
I'm beginning fulfillment of the general BWGold (and all Burning Store orders) tonight - there are over 100. Please be patient.
Also, the shipping glitch wasn't fixed from the pre-orders, so anyone who ordered BWGold with anything else will be invoiced for additional shipping.

I'm also bringing a few cases to the Compleat Strat on Tuesday. Should be there either at 11:30 am or 2pm, depending on traffic and my routing.

So I ordered the book hoping to have it before my game session tomorrow and for the first time in at least 8 years USPS has failed to get me a priority package within it's 2-3 window. Damn, I've had packages get to Russia quicker with USPS priority mail. I feel like I must of kicked a puppy or something and karma is out to get me. Oh well hopefully the Compleat Strat in King of Prussia has a book for me tomorrow because I don't feel like digging out all my revised scripting sheets for tomorrow after printing all new Gold ones.

Edit: Yay! They have a copy for me! So at least I'll have Gold tomorrow one way or another... unless the bus breaks down...

How's the shipping delay looking these days? I placed my order on the 22nd, but still no email that it's been shipped.

I know, only 9 days, sorry, getting impatient. I have a campaign ready to start as soon as it arrives. (Literally! We familiarized ourselves with the hub + spokes pdf to start the game with, so no need to read the whole 600-page book before starting play. Just waiting for the official character burning rules. ^^)

Hi Dean,

I don't have any inside information, but the hurricane left much of Staten Island, where Andy warehouses the BW stock, under water. The books are fine! But that may be leading to longer than usual delays in getting stuff shipped out.

Dear *******:

I contacted Luke Crane, author/publisher of GHQ 1600 Burning Wheel Gold, asking them when the game stores might see it, as it was printed and was shipping from them as of the first week August. He replied that Alliance has not yet ordered any!

What can we do to move this process forward? A 600+ page hard-cover with an MSRP of $25.00 will never be reprinted as a hard-cover. It might sell a bit slowly, but every last copy will sell. I've sold a fair amount of Revised, both here at Adventures, and previously at Legends of Comics and Games in Cupertino , and with Gold, it will be even easier to build that community. BWG is easier to play, more balanced, and more clearly written. Burning Wheel is also very different from either the D&D or FATE styles of play, in that it simulates literature more than cinema.

Burning Wheel transformed the way I play all RPGs by demonstrating to me that traditional RPG characters are not actually characters, in the sense of having beliefs and motivations, but rather more like your avatar in a video game: game-mechanical puppets that do anything their owners command, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. People often claim that there can be no rules for role-playing, Burning Wheel proves otherwise.

It is in the long term interest of Alliance to encourage deeper engagement in role playing games, and Burning Wheel can be an important catalyst for such development.

Please do what you can to move this process forward. I would prefer not to buy my three personal copies directly from Luke Crane, as I would rather support my local game store, and continue evangelize the product in our store.

Sincerely,
Anton Dovydaitis
Almost immediately, I got a reply.
I just sent this to the CEO, VP of Sales, and the VP. We will get it checked out.A couple hours later, he called, and informed me that they had somehow slipped the release date, and would place their order immediately.

So next week, I am hoping.

It worked its way up the entire east coast. Parts of Vermont are getting supplies via helicopter because the flooding has turned them into islands for the time being. At last count there have been 45 deaths from the storm from Florida to Vermont, though none of them occurred in NYC.

Wow. My stepmother works with FEMA. They sent her early up to NC, I think it was, as a precaution, but she was expecting to get sent back home right away. Guess she's still there!

Seoul's had a crazy summer too. Record rainfalls in 100 years. All of downtown was flooded, and mudslides killed over 40 people. Stupid weather keeps following me around. I was in NYC for the blizzard last winter, then in Atlanta for the freak icestorm. When I got back to Korea, it rained in torrents for 3 months straight. -.-

Anyway, good luck with everything. Hope life gets back to normal soon! ~ Dean

Well, from Hungary, I ordered BWG from the Burning Store on Aug 16. On Aug 19 it was shipped from NY. I just got it today, Sept 1. So, not bad, I think, especially since it wasn't Express Super-Duper or anything. And only charged the flat $13 whatever for it too. Hats off to the BW guys! I'll be reading this badboy on the train tomorrow to Vienna for my business trip, so the timing is excellent.

I was most pleased walking into my nearest FLGS, Black Diamond Games (Concord, CA) this past Saturday to find copies of the Gold Edition on the new arrivals shelf. One came home with me (displacing the jealous revised and originals in my library).

Nicely done?

This weekend in the CelestiCon Dealer Room, Game Kastle had about half a dozen copies of Burning Wheel Gold, which they got through ACD. So game stores can get them, just not (yet) from Alliance. Bought and gave away a couple copies, but I am still waiting for my copies to come in from Alliance.

Did not really get a chance to read it much, as they were gifts, but what I read did not seem greatly different from Revised. Just having the two main books together in a hardcover, though, is worth a lot to me.

Well, there are differences once you start to dig in, as others have said in other threads. Just the organization cleanup was nice (putting all the skills in one section immediately followed by the traits is nice, as done in BE). And of course, all the minor and major rule changes (like with R&C). No, it's a new edition now, and I think I'm quite well pleased with it. You'll love it once you get it!

As the German shop/distributer for BWG seems to be out of copies: Will there be a new batch of copies ariving in the near future? It's one of those games where every player better has a copy?
Or will it take a new print run?

(p.s.: For a future reprint: A more scratchproof cover would be a bliss. Luckily I had some PVC laminate for library use lying around...)
