View Full Version : Suffer for Your Glory
My arm aches. My back hurts. And my brain is nearly dead. Dro and I stamped/numbered and banded all 1500 sets this weekend.
I think I can safely say that I am NEVER doing that again. This is the last numbered edition of BW.
What we did... it was fucking insane. It was only one weekend of work, but it was fucking killer. And there were about a hundred other ways I would have rather spent that weekend!
Anyway, as soon as the preorders are en route, the regular orders will go up. Hopefully this week.

 You could always hire underlings...I would probably stamp/number and band 1500 sets for a free one or something, depending no how long it actually took. Just imagine Burning Wheel employing thousands one day....

I do not think you know what you are offering.

Heh! Luke said last time around he wasn't going to number any more sets! So much for that oath!

I'd say 6th.

On the one hand, I stand and drool in awe. You've raised the bar of "commitment to your game" so high the rest of us peons need binoculars just to see the damn thing.
On the other hand, if anyone ever tells me that Luke Crane is a sane man, I'll just have to point them to this thread, and that will put an end to that foolish notion.

Totally. I say for mid and large press games as well, not just the peons. Most publishers get one game out the door and turn their head towards the next project, never looking back but for the minimal amount of upkeep needed to maintain interest in that previous release. Generally.
On the other hand, if anyone ever tells me that Luke Crane is a sane man, I'll just have to point them to this thread, and that will put an end to that foolish notion.
He's a goddamned robot. He eats tofu and excreets productivity.
Funny thing: Last Friday, I got a package in the mail, about 4 pounds, postmarked from NY to me. My heart leaped in my chest. I immediately went inside and opened it up, only to find that it was 6 huge graphic novels (Weapons of the Gods) I had ordered from eBay about a month ago. Gorgeous, mysterious, beautifully illustrated, fully colored...
...and man, my shoulders dropped. I was fucking disappointed.
I think it's just because, y'know, most of us here know Luke, have interacted with him, etc. Receiving BW Revised in our hands is not unlike receiving Communion. As our eyes eat up the words contained in these volumes, we are tasting the blood and body (sweat, anyway) of Crane.
Not to be all messianic or anything, just a thought.
