I found myself spying on the maiman today.
I had subconsciously positioned a mirror in my room so i could see him put the mail into my mail box wihtout direclt looking at him. As soon as he was done I ran to the mailbox like a little kid. When I didn;t find my revised, I was tempted to check the neighbors' mailboxes. Maybe he had put it in the wrong box...

Anyone else unable to function properly?

The mailman came up my steps to the third floor apartment where I lived, my girlfriend's dog was barking furiously and I heard him put a box down in front of my door.

As he left I opened the door enough so Zorro couldn't get through but I coiuld get the box. I opened it.

My birthday is this coming Sunday and my father sent me a gift, the gift was in the box and NOT Burning Wheel Revised.

The gift consisted of leather bound editions of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

Life is funny.

I have been checking my mailbox like Ralph from A Christmas Story looking for his Ovaltine decoder ring.

Same drooling desire....same stupefied disappointment.

Thanks a lot, Chicago mail System.

When I got home from work yesterday there was a package sitting on the steps to my neighbors' appartment, which is about 5 feet away from my door. I picked it up and checked the address on it, just to make sure it wasn't my BWRev placed there by mistake. No such luck.

Ha! And you all said I was crzy, as I type, I have the revised edition in my lap (Number 000057 by the way), also, the lady at the post office said I was crazy for sitting quietly for 2 and a half hours waiting, oh but it was worth it, losers

YAY!

Keep the reports coming in! I'm on pins and needles, too!

What do you think of the new covers, Ricky?

-LI believe my exact words were "Oh my god the new covers are so supersupercoolyay12!@!@!2121" (I haven't slept in a while, and as such have a lot of caffeine and sugar in my system :P)

Meh, no luck for me today, went out to the mailbox right after I came out of the shower (that was when the mailman showed up) so I stood there still dripping and being very dissapointed that there was only spam from colleges who want me to give them money. No revised for me yet. :(

I must admit...I'm a little excited to be receiving them as well. I've yet to play or read or really knowing anything about the game (besides chatting it up with Thor and Kublai) and I can't wait to finally understand their love of the game.

Now whenever the receptionist calls me about a package (I had it delivered to work), I'm all bouncy that it might be the One I'm Waiting For. Today, I saw her number flash and almost had a heart attack when she told me I had a package. "Really!? That's great!"

Then it turned out to be from Delia's. For the wife.

I was so embarassed, cause I was like "Are you sure it's from Delia's?

My books (#50) arrived today! The only sad part about it is that I have a game on Thursday nights, so I actually didn't get home to see them lying on my doorstep until about 10:30 tonight. So, seeing as I have work tomorrow, no perusing night, but the books look gorgeous. Kudos to you, Luke.

I got mine today. So far, it is ungodly cool. I love all the new lifepaths and lifepath traits. And range and cover looks very cool as well.

I went over to my friends house, and he burned most of a character for my upcoming campaign. That was were I really took a look at the new lifepaths. He made a priest of Winter just returned from a sojourn into the wilds.

When he was looking at the belief and instinct section, he reminded me that the 'Wizard with a dead wife' thing happened to him in a game we were both in, with much the same effect! :D

Oh, the other funny thing is, I was waiting anxiously for the revision, and looked at Key20 several times over the course of the week. Never saw a change in status.

Tonight, when I got home, there was an email from key20 informing me that my order had shipped. The email arrived around 7 hours after I go the book.

Plus I got #55! Not bad for a guy who can't make it to 05.05.05, eh? :D

#88 arrived today.
I bet the mailman was already wondering why I always got the mail the instant he was done...
Anyway, I will now go read.
Thank you very much.

Curse the Postal Service and their not sending me mail on weekends. Now I have to wait until monday.

Grargh.

In the meantime, I will plot about a world where damn dirty elves have taken over and use their orcish slaves to wage war with the last remnants of human civilization.

Yes.

Damn, I almost feel bad now.

Had to help my mom get to the airport in Elmira safe and sound, so had no time to look into it yet.
Will do now.

Don't feel bad, man. Read and enjoy. My mom's in from out of town, so it is probably for the best.

#66 checking in from Seattle. The long wait is at an end. And I must say, Luke's handwriting was already disintegrating by the time he got to mine, I can only imagine the ones that came after.

And first impressions? The first thing I did after taking a good hefty snort of that new book smell was flip open the Character Burner. That art on the title page? Wow. Just Wow.

Manicrack

oh yeah, talking about the signatures...
I thought you were only signing the actual Burning Wheel and not the Character Burner.
But then I flipped through it and found the nice little phrase in red ink.
Luke, you are crazy to do all that work.
I don't know what laboratory bred you, but they deserve the nobel price.
