Would this be a bad time to point out a typo in the Character Burner?

Just curious, what impulse drives you point out a typo in a public forum? Oh, Bitter Grave Digger, what have you come to?!

Is it errata? Or should you just send Thor a PM rubbing it in a little?

Hey, you named me the Bitter Grave Digger, not the kindly grave digger or let-sleeping-dogs-lie gravedigger. Actually, the typo is in the entry for the Grave Digger in the outcast lifepath, so you can see why I might take a personal interest in it.

Anyway, I just thought that y'all might like to know about it in case you feel like correcting it for a future printing, is all.

Sadly, yes.

It's all Abzu's fault! Cause he doesn't know how to spell cemetery. Except I missed it and so did Johanna and Rich.

I know what you mean. The thing that frightens me is that I feel like I remember catching this one. Though who knows? It would have come near the end of the four days of madness.

yeah, i got wierd deja vu when I looked it up, too.

::shrugs::

The Bitter Grave Digger's astute observations have raised two points in my pointy head, though.

First, I hate the english language. Same sounds, hundreds of different ways to write it. Same sounds, different definitions and different sounds, same definitions. It's versatile, sure. Like an autistic genius is versatile.

Second, I don't think InDesign's CHECK ALL OPEN DOCUMENTS function actually worked. Therefore, I don't think the CB has been fully spell-checked. I found another spell error the other day. And that's just bad.

See I was right when I've said that You should learn and than write Your games in the Secret Language, because SL it totally WYSIWYG (What You Say Is What You Get (written on paper).

Two more errors I spotted:

The FoRK listing for the "Engraving" skill.

The last sentence of the description of the Frail trait.

There are more, but I don't have the marked-up books with me.

Wait, what's wrong with those? I just looked at them and I didn't see anything off.

Yagathai

I don't remember, exactly. If I had the books with me, I could check for sure.

Wait -- I remember that Frail references the "Frail' exponent. There's a frail exponent? And I think that Engraving says that you can FoRK in Engraving.

Or maybe it's Etching.

i love it when there are typos in the errata!

It's Etching.

And as for Frail, the Frail stat is just whichever one is affected by Frail, either power or Forte. I knew what he meant. :D

Just you wait until I find my list, editor-boy. Then you'll be sorry. Then you'll all be sorry!

Seriously, though, it could stand some clarification.

I dunno. I think Frail reads just fine. I thought it was very clear.

seeing all these spelling errors, is it too late to cancel my pre-order and wait for the revised revised edition.
