There are Nameless for roads, can we imply there are Nameless for cities and the things of cities? Things like sewers, alleys, and the City itself?

If the world of the Nameless is truly pantheistic, then everything should have a spirit. If the Nameless are elemental only in nature, then cities are likely without cities, or maybe just populated by the spirits of 1000's of tiny stone bricks.

Granted, I can decide one way or another, but I am curious what was intended by the rules.

Hi angelo,

we allow spirits to inhabit man-made structures in our games. the restriction is that they are less powerful because they are young.

i think i list strength levels for cities and towns in the summoning chapter, don't I?

I checked the Summoning again and there is notation of the power of Nameless in cities. I guess my paradigm was wrong. I understood that to be the power of elemental spirits in cities, not of cities. My error.

Can I take it to mean that in general urban spirits are weaker because of their relative youth, but the spirit of the City would still be stronger than that of its individual cisterns, alleys and buildings?

That is what my gut tells me.

I see a lot of potential for a crafty urban sorcerer here...

well, the idea is that the more you break down the natural forms of things, the smaller and less powerful the spirits become.

but Pete let's his summoners do whatever they want. so you should, too!

the important thing to note: don't let this turn into shadowrun.

Too funny! Believe me, I won't.

The Summoner in the City premise is more about a summoner from a foreign land who is used to dealing with the spirits of his land's wide open spaces, and how his life changes when he is surrounded by urban spirits due to his unwanted new position as an ambassador.

I never was a fan of Shadowrun, anyway.
