Who new? A great game is now even greater. The new stuff is really cool, though some of the positioning stuff will take getting used to.

What I want to know is:
Will I get to see an updated Under a Serpent Sun pdf? Life paths and Traits could use an update and the rules for modern guns need to be adapted to the RoC mechanics.

I know, I know, I should probably do this myself.

Thanks for the most kick ass RPG of all time. Too bad my local con isn't letting me run the BW event I proposed simply because I submitted the game before the deadline but after they had enough games. No consideration for a great game at all. Still, I'm planning to run BW anyway!

Best Regards,
Craig

You should argue that you can't have "enough games"

But yeah, if anyone does decide to update Under a serpent sun, let us know.

Can't promise anything, but there's a good chance it will happen. Luke is running a new Under A Serpent Sun demo for the Nerds on Saturday. 8)

It's going to be my first experience with BW....so I'm excited for it!

Good luck with that, cawshis! Make sure to bring some chocolates to cheer yourself up afterwards. I'll be there to console you, as well.

Despite losing my Lockup's life to the damn psychotic I was trying to help, I had a total blast in my first BW game!

I don't want to do any sort of write up, but all in all, I think the setting is most excellent and Luke is just amazing at keeping it going.

It was especially fun to Duel of Wits with a 27 dice body of argument to start. Mwahahahahaha!

Brah, how the hell did you get a Body of Argument of 27 dice??? It's... IMPOSSIBLE!

It was a duel of wits where he was skilled, and his opponent was not- so in effect, all his successes counted for double. he had a lot of helping dice, and poured all of his need into it (it was UaSS, remember- it was like 8 extra dice)

I'm not sure if doubling the successes is how it's printed in the book, but that's how Luke ruled. I have to say, it was prety fucking awesome.

Well, it sounded like Luke cheated!

Doubling his successes versus halving the unskilled opponent's successes is plain cheating! That's a double penalty for the unskilled. So wrong. I bet he simply didn't want to explain the rules to a newbie or something.

that's just it. i didn't want to limit Terry's successes in the duel at all. Best way to do that, I felt, was to just double the Lock Up's Body of Argument successes. I can't help it if he rolled 11 fucking successes. Double that and add his Will b5 exponent to get the 27.

So if I understand this correctly, you didn't make Terry roll at Double Obstacle for being unskilled?

no. i didn't want to halve her body for being unskilled, so I doubled pedro's.

don't listen to them, man. It's all holocaust seed lies!

I gotta go with Luke here- if he had halved Terry's argument dice, Pedro would have been able to dismiss her in the first action, easily. The way it was, he had to knock her down a bit before he finally got to it. It made for a better duel.

Luke took pity on a pretty face!

Ignoring rules because they were too harsh is not the BW way.

I didn't mean to set this all off. It worked well for us newbies!

Heh! Never fear. This is them on a good day!

I haven't actually attempted to do the math, but it seems to me that halving Terry's Body of Argument would have been roughly equivalent mathematically to what Luke did, which is to double Pedro's BoA. The only difference is that it allowed for a slightly longer, more dramatic Duel of Wits.
