Just for the sake of example, let's say I have a character with a Power of G6 and a Forte of G5. Following the rules in Character Burner, that would make the Mortal Wound G10 (6 + 5 = 5.5, round to 6 and add the Grey base of 4 to equal 10). If that is correct, how do I figure the Superficial Wound? If it is half the Forte rounded down plus 1 (3), would that be a Grey or Black shade?

ooo, ooo, I know this one :)
Black. Then you scale the rest of your wounds between B4 and G10
Your really hard to kill outright but you can slowly be widdled away.

If I ever GM a game with such nasties, I would let the Supie be at the full exponent of the Forte. But that's just me. Your GM may not be as cool as I am.

*shudders at the thought of B7 Superficial*

So it would go Sup: B3, Li: B8, Mi: B11, Sev: B14, Tr: G1, and a Mo: G10? That's quite a stretch between a Traumatic Wound and a Mortal Wound, isn't it.

well, you could shift the other wounds over to the right. I believe with Grey MW you are allowed to use the whole Forte exponent between categories.
Your example is actually a bit off, unless your character had the Tough Trait. Always round your MW down.
B3, Li: B8, Mi: B13, Sev: G2, Tr: G7, and a MW: G9
Is that right? :?
Again, this reinforces my opinion that the current formula for a Supie for a Grey MW is inadequate to represent the heroic nature of that character. With a B3 Supie, a small child could take him down! :(
page 36 of the Character Burner
If a character has a Gray MW, then the distance between Sup and Light is equal to the Forte Exponent.
If a character has a White MW, then the distance between all wound tolerances is equal to the Forte exponent.

ah, that's what I get for not havin' the burner at work! :(
so that's B3, Li: B8, Mi: B10, Sev: B12, Tr: B14, and a MW: G9???
Something ain't right. :?

Your example is actually a bit off, unless your character had the Tough Trait. Always round your MW down.
Pg 35 of the Character Burner says to round down on half the Forte to determine the Superficial Wound, but I haven't seen anything that says to round down on the Mortal Wounds; it just says to take the average of Power and Forte and add it to a base of 6 for Black, 4 for Grey, and 0 for White. Is always rounding down a convention of the game system?

yeah, rounding down is the standard for BW. It says it somewhere in there, I think. Consider the Tough trait - it wouldn't be very helpful if you already were rounding your MW up.
good catch, durgil.
Average of Power and Forte is rounded down when factoring Mortal Wound. Apparently it's been a rule for so long that I forgot to actually write it in the Character Burner.
::sigh::
keep up the good work!

I knew it was in there!
Step 8, third paragraph: "Rounding off attributes."
It's above "Health".
