Concept: Failed sorcerer turned university scholar
Character Name: Johan Davison
The studious Johan always dreamed of pursuing the mystic arts. His childhood had been filled with tales of mighty magicians conquering dragons and saving the day. It was for this reason that the young man sought an apprenticeship as soon as he was able. He studied under a number of different wizards for many years, but, while the mundane aspects of his study were areas he excelled at, true magic always alluded him. As he moved from wizard to wizard, each telling him he simply didn't have the true Gift, he became more and more embittered. Finally, he was unable to find any more wizards who would take someone his age, who had failed so many times before. He acquired a position at a university thanks to his scholarly aptitude, and began teaching students and studying history, all the while brooding about his failure.
