A local RPG-Writer and Artist is having his first public testrun for his game "highschool of awesomeness" tomorrow and i am going.

I know you BW guys have a lot of experience with testing things. How should i approach this. Of course i will at first just try to play according to the setting and the rules etc. But this thing will go for quite a while, not sure if we have multiple sessions in that.

Should i try to break the game? I guess i shouldn't but there is a lot to be learned from that... Should i try to at least check out the bondaries? Not break them but test where they are?

As far as i know this is a game about cool anthropomorphic animals at a cool school. But everything i have to go on is a picture (a pinguin in a tux riding a sea lion) and the name... I will report tomorrow

You should play the game according to the rules provided. You should not try to break the game. All you learn from game-breaking is that every game can be broken. Just play it naturally.

Really, you don't need to look for the broken. Simply try as much of the system as written as you can comfortably fit in the session. You'll find what's broken much faster by doing it that way than by deliberate breaking attempts.

We've playtested a crapton of games here, and what's worked well is to hew as close as possible to the designer's intent. Make sure you understand their intent first! Then follow the rules, and note where the game text fails to fulfill the intent.

Also take note of your own expectations, and how they are or are not fulfilled by the play experience.
