The Vek’nish are a race intent on eliminating all other life, other than their slaves. They will certainly use other species to reach there goals, but never form a lasting alliance. Vek’nish society is based on a strict hierarchy, with almost no class mobility.
Physically, they stand about 42 inches tall and weigh about 115 pounds. They have pebbly skin, colored with meshing shades of dark browns and greens. The have three claws, like a bear’s, on each of their four-fingered hands. However, they don’t like to fight at all and will run from combat or hide behind their slaves. They live in the darkness where they hone their mental abilities, hoping one day to be able to best the Meta’dul (a psychic race) that plague the lands to their north.

Beliefs:
1. The Vek’nish are superior to all else
2. To fight for yourself is folly.
3. We will use the might of our minds to rid this land of invaders.

Instincts:
1. Always fight in defensive stance if cornered (and only fight when cornered).
2. Always try to run into the darkness, where it’s safe.
3. Keep a slave by me at all times.

Stats: Will B7, Perception B6, Agility B3, Speed B3, Power B3, Forte B4

Attributes: Steel B6, Health B5, Reflexes B4, Mortal Wound B9

PTGS: Superficial B3, Light B5, Midi B7, Severe B8, Traumatic B8, Mortal B9

Skills: Etiquette B5, Falsehood B5, Persuasion B6, Read B3, Write B3, Stealthy B3, Brawling B3

Traits: Cunning (Char), Hate Members of Other Species* (Char), Diminutive Stature, Darksight (As Night eyed), Pebbled Skin (as Leathary skin), Alien (Dt), Rending Claws (Dt), Where There’s a Whip (Dt)

*I didn’t want to use xenophobic because they aren’t quite afraid of them.

They move as a standard biped.

Equipment: A hooded cloak, whip, a slave (race varies depending on the Vek’nish)

IMS for claws: Incidental B3, Mark B5, Suburb B7

Armor - Ignore 1s, 1d to all locations (2d to torso)

This is meant to be a run of the mill Vek’nish. I plan to eventually create lifepaths and whatnot for them, but I wanted feedback before doing so. Let me know what you think.

my first peer review snip would be to trim a point off both Will and Perception. I really don't see a need for mean numbers that high.

If men are mean 4s and these guys are stronger willed and more perceptive, then 5s will usually do.

I agree with Luke. Other than that, I think this is a very cool first attempt!

You may want to consider throwing in a little Intimidation, since they use that whip to make their slaves do stuff. A Whip skill would also be handy. And let's not forget some good Wises. How about Slave-wise or Insubordination-wise?

Vek'nish slaves probably get Master-wise and Whip-wise.

A Whip skill would also be handy.

what, pray tell, would a Whip skill be handy for? Archaelogical adventures? A Whip ain't a very useful weapon.

I think the trait covers it nicely.

Who said it was a weapon? :P

I saw it as a variation of the Torture skill that can be used to reduce a Slave's Will to make him pliable.

Well, when looking at samples of what would have stats of certain exponents, I saw elf as having a B6 will and perception. These aren't just a little better then men in these areas, I wanted them to be rivals of elves. Also, I figured it would be ok because thier physical stats are somewhat pathetic. I mean, they fit the description of old man and a little week, as well as agile as a troll.

So how does a B6 will and B6 perception sound, with more room to grow, ie, higher caps on the mental stats.

As for intimidation, I was actually thinking about it. I know it's will based, but the description makes it sound, to me at least, like there is a physical component to it, and these guys, despite thier great mental cabalities, probably won't be scaring anyone but their slaves, at least that's how I feel. What do you all think about that?

Ok, so changes (instead of reposting the whole thing)

Will B7 -> Will B6
SKills: Add Slave-wise B4

This gives them a total of 20 skill points, not overpowered at all, right? I mean, that's what orcs and elves have. Do you still think I should go down to a B5 perception?

*EDIT* Sorry, didn't see Thor's second reply. Torture seems like a skill for extracting information. If that's what it is, then I don't really think it would fit, if it's for more than that though, I can work it in. If I do though, should I take away from other skills or just add to the skill point total?
