You know, it dawns on me that I almost never game with these folk. Its not that I have not met them and I have even been social with them. But when it comes down to gaming - doesn't happen. We even created a gaming club based on the idea of keeping them out. Some complain that a voting process is elitist however our criteria is quite fair and broad - do you smell on a regular basis? And are you obnoxious on a regular basis? if either is true enough for a majority of the 25 members of a particular chapter to vote you out (once after gaming with you four times) then I think that's fair. And the other chapter could include you if they see fit.
in its 6 years of existance PAGE (Philadelphia Area Gaming Enthusiasts) have voted out two people - one of which was included in the other chapter (he got better :)

I am most impressed by your organization down in Philly!
Chapters? Clubs? What does all this mean?
It's like Philly is agricultural Babylon and NYC is still in its Hunter/Forager infancy. ... :?

If that is true then Boston is ROME.
Damn there is a lot of gaming in that town.
Very cool.
I have been really happy in the environment we're in. I will tell you, though, its more about organization than anything else. I am certain there are hundreds of gamers sitting around wondering "gee, NYC gaming sucks :)" I think the NYC Nerd crew is looking into getting a club going and from what Aaron has been saying it seems like they have some great ideas.
Really the issue is "how do you make a club that is accessible and draws in folk while being careful you keep out the problem people.
