Post burning Steel increases

Do characters continue to have their Steel modified by the questions in the character burner after they're in play? If I'm playing a new recruit soldier that's never been in actual battle...does my Steel increase by one in game if I kill or murder twice?

Nope.Once you enter play, Steel Advances according to the same rules as everything else.
