On page 130, we have "The character with the highest Speed multipliergets a bonus die as well" (for positioning tests).

Does this mean speed exponent (i.e. character with the highest speed value independent of Shade)? I'm unclear on this use of multiplier, and can't find any other reference to "multiplier" in the rulebook...

A man has a higher multiplier than a toad. A horse has a higher multiplier than a man. An eagle has a higher multiplier than a horse.

It's a vestigal descriptor left over from counting paces. It's not Speed, but rather what Speed is multiplied by to see how far one moves in a given time.

I believe the multiplier is written in each races' specific Character Burner chapter.

BW, p 238.

The only multiplier in the CB is for Dwarves for whom it is 3x, versus the standard 3.5x multiplier. Other creatures have it listed for them in the MB.

Ah! Thanks! I hadn't reached that part of the rules yet, and flipped over it when I was looking for the multiplier business. Thanks!
