There was some talk (I think on this Forum) about regional traits that people from certain areas of your campaign that have access to. Should these be treated like LP traits, meaning that they only cost 1 in burning, or are they free?

It makes more sense to make 'em 1pt, but I didn't know what the rest of you did.

If you're treating them as cultural traits I'd give them for free, much like the racial common traits. Just a couple or three ya know, for flavor.

You're right sir, cultural traits (or regional whatever you want to call them emukt) are free. And if i'm not mistaken in our sunday game, each culture had three of them.

thanks, i couldn't remember what people were calling them - in "some other game" there are Regional Feats

Are most people having the cultural traits be 1pt character traits or are Die and Call-on also game for being cultural?

We keep our cultural traits limited to Character traits.

Mostly those were cosmetic traits (MB pg.44) and sometimes culture had one Die Trait, but it really depends what kind of culture you are loking forward to create. I think that more advenced cultures should have more die/call-on traits, than those more primitive ones (just cosmetic traits for them).

Irish: pale-skinned, poetic, drunkard

I'd make poetic a Call-on for Poetry and Singing!

Why I hate "cultural" traits. Can we say stereotype?

The same goes for any freebie cultural trait, its just we don't appreciate how sloppy our thinking can get on this when we're giving out "cultural" traits to Niraih, cimereans or whatever mythical human race you are fleshing out. I'd rather people try to convey cultural differences in their Beliefs and Instincts, since what we term "cultural" differences are a matter of subjective interpratation and not objective truth--which is what the imposition of a hardcoded trait would imply.
