For a set of spiked gauntlets, Pow +1, Add 1, fast sounds reasonable, right? Dagger stats, basically.

So for Superior-quality Spiked Gauntlets, would adding a VA 1 to that be reasonable? I think so, but if anyone has any other ideas...

I don't think it should be like a dagger... I think add should stay 2, and maybe improve to 1 for the superior-quality, with no VA.
But maybe it's only me :P

I think it would work fine with dagger stats in the book, the only difference being you use guantlets with the Brawling skill as opposed to the Dagger skill.

It would certainly work fine as a dagger, but I think I would maybe make it Power 2 Add 2 VA 0 (or Power 1 Add 2 VA 0 if I were feeling mean). With superior quality, maybe +1D to lock (I'm thinking of an old theatrix character former gladiator with unbreakable silver gauntlets who used them while grappling . . .)

I'm thinking Add 1 only because the add is supposed to represent how intuitive and simple a weapon is to use. I don't see spiked gauntlets being any less intuitive and simple to hit with than a dagger or fist. And I wouldn't go with Pow 2 -- 2 is sword or spear, and I just don't see spiked gauntlets doing that sort of mayhem. They'll ring your bell better than an empty fist, but they won't gut you or stick you in the giblets.

Fists are add 2. I think daggers are Add 1 because it is shockingly easy to deal nasty wounds with them. I put in a Power 2 because it seems like it should do more damage than a rock. Maybe Power 1, with +1d to locks?

They are? Shows what I know. But I don't know that they'll do that much more damage than laying a brick upside someone's head.

I don't know why they'd add to locks, necessarily. I mean, you can't grab any harder with gauntlets on. In fact, they might even make you more clumsy. Now, I could see the case for a +1d to disarm, if you really want to give them a kewl bonus.

I think I was thinking it would allow more painful holds. That really only makes sense against unarmored foes, though

Maybe some kind of bonus to damaging locks. Though I can't find the rules for damaging locks in revised . . .

you could do a variety of spiked gauntlets:

Heavy Knuckles: Pow 1, Add 2, VA -, fast.

Hand of Blades, Pow 0, Add 2, VA 1, fast.

Thikes: Pow 0, Add 1, VA -, fast.

Spiked Fist: Power 1, Add 1, VA -, fast

Cestus: Pow 1, Add 2, fast, counts as 2D armor on that arm.

Hand of Doom: Power 2, Add 2, VA 1, slow. Counts as 3D armor on that arm.

all death gauntlets count as Shortest length and cause a +2 Ob Agility penalty for using that hand for anything else.
