If a character wants to summon a specific demon type, like a succubus, which type of demon would that be?

I think there should be a list of "famous" demon and angel types and which category they would fall into in the Summoning rules.

Summoning "specific demons" should be something detailed in a campaign and involve either knowing their name (if they are to come unwillingly) or they might be waiting to respond to the call and come quite willingly. But that's really a story/gm thing. Not a rules thing.

Summoning an ADnD succubus would be summoning a straight Daemon in BW. But you should really try to break the chains of ADnD fantasy. What is a succubus? Where does it fall in your cosmology? What other creatures inhabit your cosmology. If you can answer these questions, you should be able to use the summoning rules as the guidelines they were intended to be.

I am far too lazy to create any sort of cosmology. I want you to do it for me.

D+D rawked in this aspect. I gladly encumber myself with the chains of "Demons and Demi-Gods!"

I suspect in a week I will have my summoning rules completed and ready for your playtesting, Kublai :) Of course, it will be for Fortune's Tide, my current afro-arabic fantasy campaign setting.

BTW if any of my players, in any game or campign, pass me a note that states "Bellouk is the prophet of the shadow of rage" you get a one time Artha reward of 1 :) Use it well.

Oooooh! I can't wait to try them out on my own unsuspecting players. Nothing says that my campaign and yours don't take place on the same world at the same time!

I am very excited about this. Some will get their first substantial glimpse into the setting. And I can't think of a more satisfying introduction than religion, cosmology and interaction with the world beyond the veil. Luke and I talked about it and I think I will be keeping with the wheels instead of the bargaining square.

If anyone has seen the movie Stormriders (taiwanese uncut version instead of the american butchered version...sheesh) there is a puzzle box that is a beautiful set of concentric circles decorated in characters. I see this as the basis for a great magic item... get the right combo to attain information into the cosmos... fail and release the demon bound within
