We played a fun short session the other night in our dark fantasy, western european-type setting. This was the game with three full knights plus friends and retinue of another ten people.
Anyway, the lead knight, the Kemmerherr--Justiciar--Tristam is spoiling for a fight. Why? Because his veins are on fire, he feels he's on the verge of something.
The group has just now discovered a lost tomb of a little known and disreputed saint. At the mouth of the tomb, crouched a great wolf and her brood--the scene looking very much like the mouth of hell.
Tristam's player boasted to me that he was going to run in there and twist the wolf's head off with his bare hands. Why? Because he needs a challenging Power test in order to advance!
Is this a bad thing? I don't think so at all. If the advancement of his stat is going to drive him to valorous (and psychotic) and perilous deeds, then I am all for it!
