Just something to share...
After playing NWN last year (something I would love to do more of if I had time...along with Galaxies, which currently is just eating away cash as my account sits there unused) I got a laugh that I am fond of discussing.
It has to do with expectations and the differences between computer games and table-top...
So I have decided that I pray newbie gamers do not use the NWN model for starting tabletop games. not because its d20 (which I happen to be very fond of, just board with) and not because its stilted and impersonal (I have had a few very satisfying online experiences... roleplaying... that DIDN'T include inquiries to what I'm wearing... sheesh, you people!)
anyway, so I came upon this discovery when I realized my players would LYNCH ME if, after a long combat where the players nearly perished, they opened a trapped chest (that also nearly kills them) only to find ONE GOLD PIECE! Yeah, I would be a dead man.
