Yeah, lets talk dead magic. Has anyone given any thought to a system for necromancy? The art of death magic I feel is a staple for fantasy settings, especially dark and creepy ones like I like  I'm thinking about burning up a system of some sort, but is a system really needed? Would it work best as a subset of sorcery? Or summoning, for that matter? I can see it as akin to summoning, actually. Maybe replace the circination with drawing runes and symbols on dead bodies and calling spirits of the dead instead of nature spirits and demons. Should necromancy be pure abstraction? Abstraction seems tough, with higher Ob's than sorcery. Also, like I said I don't have my CB handy, and I gave the spell list only the most cursory look, so if there are specific necromancy spells there I apologize for being redundant. I just think a specific necromancy system might be cool; what do you all think?

I'm suspect we'll do something on nigromancy (that's what we called it in Classic) in the Magic Burner. Until then, I'd use Summoning.

The Imps in the Summoning chapter are pretty clearly spirits of the dead (just check out their quotes). That might imply that Querubim are as well, but I don't know if I would do anything with that. I like the thought that all spirits of the dead you can contact are malevolent and want a piece of your soul.
