Hostage taking, poverty and the ethics of murder
These are just a few of the themes explored in the brazilian documentary, Bus 174.
It really is a remarkable film. It's dissection of events is, ultimately, jaw dropping.
Some of the stylistic choices of the film are a little ugly--the score and a solarized scene-- but these small rough spots are overshadowed by the detailed depiction of the actual event itself.
If you have an art-house cinema in your town, and it comes through, I highly recommend seeing this film.
