Hi,

Just getting ready to start playing a BW campaign and as I was going through the rules, I created my 1st and 2nd characters, Version 1-6 for each as I made changes and such. I came upon what I consider a discrepancy, but might just be that I have overlooked something.

The elf example character, Ariadh, is given the following spell songs: lament of mourning, lay of the horse, song of songs and lament of the fallen.

According to section 6 of character burning, the character will have 2 sets of skill points. The main set of skill points can only be used to buy skills that are in the master list of the lifepaths hes chosen. General points can then be used to buy general skills, any skill in the master list, or any stock skills.

Now, the spell songs are not defined as skills, nor are they on any skill list from the lifepaths given to Ariadh.

So, are spell songs allowed to be bought regardless of lifepaths? Does this also hold for elven skill songs?

Thanks,
Ken Segall

Ken,

You can buy spell songs with general skill points.

You can buy any spell song that isn't in one of your lifepaths with General Skill.
