Forgive me if this question is really stupid, because I don't have the UaSS file in front of me, but if he has Despair, then shouldn't he have the Despair trait?

I think he's right about the Need instead of Despair.

also should have traits "Brainwashed" and "Restrained by Phobia" instead of "Paranoid"

a good thing to also figure out is - what is the focus of your NEED? is it your daughter? is it scavenging/picking off people/stealing/taking etc?

Okay, you guys are right about Despair/Need - I was interpreting the rules somewhat differently (i.e., I thought that any character who had seen through the Illusion had Despair).

I will edit as appropriate...
