Am I just overlooking something, or does BW really have no set out rules to cover fatigue?

None.

Do you feel the game needs them?

That's an interesting question. I've happily played tons of systems that didn't bother to address fatigue, but then I've recently been exposed to Savage Worlds, which has some of the nicest, tightest little fatigue rules you ever did see, and so suddenly I'm mindful of the postive roll they can play. i.e. Do we force march through the night and arrive first, but exhausted, or, is it really worth it to push on through this blizzard, or should we try to find our way through the old dwarven catacombs instead ;)

For the moment, I'll hold my judgement in abeyence, but I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything.

I might use fatigue when the story calls for it. I call for a Forte test and give it an appropriate Obstacle: perhaps +1 Obstacle per day of a forced march, Ob2 for staying up all night, Ob3 for carrying a sack of gold from the dungeon to the town and then getting into a drunken bar fight.

Count each failed die as a +1 Ob penalty towards all actions until some rest is had.

I don't have any way of play testing it at this time, but I can imagine fatigue and exhaustion rules that look something like the new Wound Tolerances only maybe not so severe. The frequency of the escalation in penalties could be determined not by a stat, but by a skill, like Conditioning, and a Steel check could be rolled near the end to keep the character from collapsing from exhaustion.

We talked about this in earlier posts as well.

I think fatigue is a good idea. It allows the rope-a-dope techniche to have a reality in BW.

How I would handle it: High activity over a number of exchanges equal to your Health you would make a Forte test with the obstacle increasing each set of exchanges. Failure gives you a Superficial.
