While I am waiting another 2-9 days for my copy of BW. I was wondering about if BW has not been able to emulate a certain setting. I have read a few reviews about how people have been using it with all type of fantasy settings and some science fiction ones.
Has anyone met a setting BW cannot do?
Just wondering.

Kind of looking like let's say, person A said, tried to do Runequest BW, but couldn't do a Runelord, or really could not do the Thomas Covenant series or Gor.
I haven't tried (<--- important to note) but because of how R&C is designed I'd feel uneasy about attempting to use it in a setting where combat centred a lot on modern firearms. Combat vehicles too. However addressing modern military combat tactics is part of what BE is, which is branched from BW rules. (I'm still working on digesting those BE rules, but it looks good so far).
Under The Serpentine Sun, a Mad Max+myticism type setting extension for BWR found in the Wiki download section, has a few firearms in it. You can also check out Burning Sands (Dune conversion) too. It just doesn't have the same sort of tactical options as BE that I associate with modern firearms. BE Firefight also scales up to vehicles.
Also the magic system is likely to be a bit of a rub trying to figure out how to convert to some settings. By far your best bet to see the breadth of what has been attempted, and likely the best place for this thread itself, is the It Only Takes a Spark forum.

I guess this also will depend on what you mean "can't do." With a little work BW can do NEARLY anything. in fact, i can't think of a genre I have not run BW for. Some games you may need to do more work that your willing. Much of that decision making has a lot to do with lifepaths and how much work do you want to put into creating new ones.
Mnay of the complaints I have heard about BW and what games it does not do well (high fantasy "the PCs are heroes that never die")are often solved through generous applications of Artha.
The second most likely misconception is when people say somehitng akin to "I want to run games with levels and hit points." Since BW has niether one might say it can't approximate those sorts of games.
Of course, the common credo would certainly stand - BW is not for everyone. Using BW ends up being more about play style than what you can or can't do.
