If you have the hands of Stone trait do you automatically do Gray damage, even without gray Power?

I think it's fair to say that a character without Gray Power but with Hands of Stone has wasted his Trait points.

Is it a waste? The description of Hands of Stone gives the purchasing character a discount (4 points instead of 7) for having Grey power. Thus implying that it would be reasonable (although expensive) for somebody with a Black power to purchase this trait.

Is it not the case that somebody swinging a heroic sword deals Grey damage, even if they only have Black power? So as the trait says your hands are now heroic weapons as well.

the cigar goes to Rafial.

Hands of Stone is to allow the hands to become heroic weapons. In fact, it is this trait and this trait only that allows the unarmed to do heroic damage, Power shade doesn't matter.

However, having a heroic shade Power does give the aforementioned discount on Hands of Stone (aka, You're All Hamburger).

alright, cut to the chase here, Abzu.

are you telling me that for a 7 trait points, a guy can purchase Hands of Stone and with a Black Power can do Grey damage???

I thought this was the case.

I am glad I wasn't the only one uncertain about it though :D

(I bet Kublai is thinking "damn, I know where my next 7 points of traits are going in my next character." )

Well, I think THAT is Preposterous with a capital P!

That being said, eruditus has me pegged.

actually, I don't see where the question was. The description of Hands of Stone seems fairly self explanatory to me. 7 pts gets you hands of death. Nor do I think that is cheap, or really a big deal. It's not like you can cheat in BW. It's such an easy trait for the GM to say No to.
