So I decided to release Trolls as the follow up lifepath set to Wolves. I know Trolls are not the non-anthropomorphs I promised, but spiders are still in the works (they need more playtesting) and the trolls are just so darn cool!

check out the pdf download here (http://www.burningwheel.org/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownload&cid=6)

Slimey Call-on Trait Cost=2pts

This creature is covered in a layer of gooey slime (choose color). Dirt and insects are caught in its sticky, repulsive film. It drops glops of slime wherever it goes. Naturally, this troll prefers humid and wet terrain. The slime makes it hard to grasp, therefore this trait can be called-on to resist Locks, Charges, and Throws during melee.

Anyone got a bag of salt?

Who's going to Throw a Troll? Sure other Trolls might, but I doubt that this will become a favorite tactic of my PC's. Of course their recent encounter with a Troll who had a nasty tendency to shrug of multiple White Fire bolts with little effect may make them ready to try anything...

Yes! Yes! Tell me! Tell me about his brutish destructiveness! Numb? Brute? Power 10? Forte 10? Muahhaahhahahahh!

(Btw, Handmaidens of the Undernest might also Throw a troll. Oh wait, you don't know about them yet. Muahahahhx2!)

Trolls without the Brute Trait are glass-jawed suckers. Seeing as how there is only one Lifepath that gives you this trait, this will be a common problem (for the trolls, not anybody else!).

With Wills and Perceptions of B2 on average, that means most trolls go down with a mere -2 in wounds. And what's that caused by? A couple of good shots from a sword or bow. That's a crying shame in my book!

I believe many of the Lifepath traits should be purchasable! If this was the case, trolls could avoid being forced to take a Lifepath in order to get a trait which I think every troll should have. By having to take that Lifepath to get the Brute trait, you are also going to see a lot of similar trolls.

Couldn't there at least be one LP in each setting that offers Brute? Why should my Mine Haunt or Warlord be forced in to the wilds to get it?

p.s. - Frag! Zombies are tougher in BW than Trolls!
