This is the Vaylen general/infiltrator I've burned up for my Burning Empires little tryout campaign. We decided to play it as an all-out Invasion, so this character starts out as an already embedded bastard who controls the merchant guild, has the world's Forged Lord in his pocket, and plans to bring his clan's Ksatriyen to bear against the last pocket of resistance, the oblivious but pretty powerful Military Junta (led by one of my two pcs). Of course, if he can disable the rebel military without risking his preciuos soldiers, he will.
I made for this campaign a Self Made Worm, coming from a weak, young clan. He's very resentful of his parvenu status, and deeply afraid that a pyrrhic victory will leave his clan weak, unable to hold his conquest and that this will force him to come to terms with stronger clans from deeper in worm-space, which may or may not issue claims over this rich Void World.

Beliefs:
- I will show everybody that I can can reach any height. Nobody can deem me inferior because of my low birth. This world will be my crowning achievement
- Humans must be set one against the other. You must make them weak before our ksatryien warriors by sowing discord.
- The Forged Lord is the doorway of this planet. Keep him in power by all means necessary until absolute power is put in your hands. (it's good to have hands, btw)

Instincts
- Never get caught without an escort (boring but useful)
- In war, act always from a fortified position.
- animal life always recoil form physical contact and sudden movements.

So, this is it. Dunno if I've forgotten anything. I hope I haven't done any major mistake while burning this character... I seem to get a lot of things wrong with these rules. I can just hope it will be a good match for my players, together with his nasty and brutish Forged Lord partner.
BTW they went for a rebel Anvil Lord, leader of the military junta, and a sad and bitter Void Lord, barely escaped from his Vaylen-devoured homeworld and come to try and find his place here.
Suggestions? Critiques? Please be nice, don't make me run in my closet to cry the worm out of my nose in despair...

Ah, yes.
The world is a Void World on the fringe of the Gonzagin Empire. It's a mining world, mostly encased in the extensive polar cap. Every few years summer comes and a virulent plant life erupts in the brief heat.
Human life, outside mining facilities, huddles near the equator. There's an extensive network of orbital facilities and a very strong, long range merchant fleet to ship the minerals to the inner worlds.
Most of the rest has to be decided (outside the info we got from burning the planet)
Government: Noble Fief
Dominant army: Lords-pilot (the Junta)
Factions:
Military Junta
Merchant League
Psychologist Foundation (hitherto undefined)
Slaves and Serfs (mandatory)

Seems like a fantastic character: clever use of the lifepaths, good numbers and great Instincts.
