I read a post about someone wanting to use Voodoo in BW, and my thoughts are along similar lines, but I wanted to blow it out here so it wouldn't get lost.
At the heart of voodoo lies a very interesting practice called Being Ridden by the Loa. The idea is that you open yourself to (hopefully) benign possession by one of their spirits, such as Papa Legba, Maman Brighitte, or Baron Samedi. After that, they're in charge. I've seen people eat glass (crunch crunch crunch yum), handle burning coals, and the like.
Would it be possible to use the possession rules (I'd swear I've read them in one of the books, but sadly my books are with one of the other players at the moment) in order to allow a spirit to possess you for a time, but also to make sure it leaves after the duration is ended?
Could be a bit of a mind trip, eh?
