Are two lifepaths with the same name from different Settings considered the same Lifepath for purposes of diminishing returns?

e.g. A character is Born Noble, and his family hires a tutor to teach him what he needs to know (he takes Student). The young nobleman goes to the city to pursue further studies (Lead to City-dweller, then Student there). However, he gets caught up in all of the exciting opportunities for mischief his new city life out from under the thumb of his family allows (not to mention that, from ages 12-16, other pursuits take priority over his studies [He'll be opening Anatomy for certain]), and is forced to repeat his studies (takes Student a second time in the City-dweller setting).

Does this last time taking Student suffer from diminishing returns penalties (as the third time taking the Student lifepath), or is it considered only his second time taking the lifepath?

(I got inspired/bored and decided to try to hack together a Java Character Burner. Expect more nitpicky questions to come.)

there are no exceptions to the Law of Diminishing Returns.

Taking a lifepath multiple times, even if it is the same lifepath or the same-named path in different settings, invokes Diminishing Returns.

Thanks.

::goes and adds an equals() method to Lifepath which tests for name identity::
