I am new to BW but I am learning quickly :D
How far is 1 Pace? 3 feet? 5 feet? or race based averages?
A standard human pace (if its really race based) would be far less than a Troll...
I am having a problem wrapping my mind around Pace....any help would be appreciated. Seems silly that this is the only item I am having difficulty grasping :?
Hi 8bit,
A pace is the unit of measure for burning wheel -- it is standard at one human step or about 3' or about a meter.
It's meant to be a bit nebulous, as ranges and rates are fudgey kinds of things anyway. But it's also meant to give us a bench mark to compare everyone to.
hope that helps,

Ah makes sense now, I thought I was overlooking a number somewhere. I will go with a yard = 1 Pace just so I can visualize it while reading the rules.
Thanks for the reply :D

Well, does this 3' per step rule apply for all races? As said above a troll's step is going to be far longer then that of a halfling. Or is it set up like D&D in that each step is considered 5' and depending on race/class you can make more steps. For example a Human making a normal move can make 6 steps, or 30' where as a wolf can move 40'.
Thanks

Forgive me for quoting myself, but:
Hi 8bit,

Let me rearrange that: A pace is about 3' or 1 meter in length (which ever suits your taste). This unit of measure applies to all distances, it's not a "racial" thing.
Sorry munckin ;), no super-speedy broken-ruled trolls here.
