Hey, all. I don't have BW yet (I know, for shame), but I was wondering if there would have to be any significant tweaking to create a more Renaissance feel to the CB, rather than medieval.

Hi Tetsujin,

Personally, I don't think it will be a problem. There are some technological skills you would have to add in (like Munitions), but the LPs are fairly broad and very adaptable.

What roles do you see your players taking on in your Renaissance period game?

It's the continuing search for a system for my boo-ya Solomon Kane demon/witch-hunter game :)

Unfortunately, I don't know Solomon Kane. Maybe you could give me details as to what the characters will be/do in the game.

But we've got zealots, witches, religious personages of all ranks, etc. We'd have to come up with a Witchhunter LP, though.

Oh, man, you've got to read the Solomon Kane stories! Howard's best work, IMHO.

As to what they'll be doing, they'll be hunting demons...and witches...and stuff... :)

We've had some witch-hunters in our games. Though there aren't any Witch-hunter LPs, such characters are created through the sum of their chosen LPs. A Villager can become a priest who becomes a soldier and in doing so will earn enough skills and traits to be one badass witch-hunter.

I think creating Ren-age characters would be a fairly simple process. There are no Lifepaths that can't be used, and a few more could be made, but for the most part, it's a matter of switching out skills. For instance, a Knight's Bow skill can be replaced by a Pistol skill.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking of a specific witch-hunter LP as such. But I'm guessing I'd have to come up with some stats for blackpowder weapons, and the like.

Nah, musket and pistol stats are provided in the game.

Cool! I'm really looking forward to being able to put BW through its paces when I get back to the States :)
