A player of mine wants to learn the light spell. For his first reading, he tests sorcery vs. ob of spell. I'm a little confused as to what that is, for in this case the spell lists "see description" as it's ob. The effect states it varies based on the intent with ob 1-10. What does this mean? Was the ob suppose to read 1^? If so, what is the ob for a spell like that? or should I have him roll for a ob 10?
variable obstacle spells use the average obstacle. In this case, Ob 5. I think that's stated more clearly in the abstractions chapter, but I know it's in there somewhere.
hope that helps.

Light is a VERY hard spell to learn, ain't it?

That sort of light spell, yes.
There's another fixed-obstacle light spell in there somewhere that's a lot easier, but without my books I forget the name of it. It doesn't have the ability to cause THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE SUN, though.
