Hi all,

Just wanted to thank everyone who came out and supported Burning Wheel this past weekend. I had a good time. thanks for making my weekend.

BTW, the Gift was amazing, and I really fun time running it. Very interesting resolution. I was thrilled by the fact that everyone plied some subtle input that shaped the way the story ended. There were so many simple comments that turned drew the play in a new direction. On both sides there was very cool energy with lots of struggle and argument behind the throne -- the Ranger and Swordsinger battling and the Seneschal and Warden of completely different dispositions.

Good stuff.

I had so much fun as the Swordsinger in that session. It was a good challenge to take this bad ass killer, and have him be the voice of reason to his prince. It just made so much sense from reading his traits and such, and then his history. I know you dug my reasoning for all that when I told you Luke, but I figured I'd point it out here. The Swordsinger for that scenario is far more than just a killing machine. He's got tremendous depth of personality, and for anyone to have that character be nothing more than a stock killing machine does the character an injustice. All imho of course. :P

hello luke and gang
its me STEVE !!! HA HA
the dwarven seneschal and a jill from the kill puppies game

I just wanted to say how much fun was had at the con and it was do in no small part to burning wheel and players that play it(namely thor, urbwar,
"hello kaitlyn" and the others whose name I didnt get).
hell even the demos were a HOOT! Damn wolf is loads of fun to play(the hunt for those damn brigands goes on; you hear me luke, man blood will be spilled).

please keep posted what cons you'll be at (next time I might buy the game  )

for those who havent played "the gift" yet do so when you get a chance
its a great political senario. there's alot of stuff going on when we played.
heres some of it.
sneaking elf ranger being spotted by drunk uncle ( "theirs a spy among them elves?"), seneschal trying to romance the loremistress to get to lucrative elven trade business, the offend dwraven prince ("they only brought two bottles of wine???"), bread sliceing and goblin splitting.

looking forward to playing again with you guys it was just too much fun.

till next time

Steve! Two brilliant characters, man.

We all agreed that we should have ended the kpfs game at the explosion. You would have been burned to death!

Anyway, the Gift was awesome as well. A very satisfying game indeed.

And yes, the Wolf lives on. His reign of terror shall never end!

I'm really just putting a screen name to my face. I was the Ranger. Elfier -than-thou to try to make up for his heritage and those dwarves kept giving him reasons. :-)

I was rather disappointed that Don's BW game didn't run. You'll always generate enthusiasm Luke --- who could play in one of your games and not have a great time? --- but I'ld love to see some other BW runs get similar enthusiasm.

Hi Doug!

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for joining us in The Gift this weekend. Yeah, Don's a bit of a snob, he won't run a game for two people... ;) Anyway, Don runs BW games at nearly every con, I'm certain you'll have a chance to get in on one of his next time around. I hear they are fun!
