Initial positioning: my spear is out and I'm in defensive stance.

"Your mother's a hundred years too young to defeat me. Take as much time as you like to preparrrrrrrr yourself, dwarf!"

In steps a lightly armored dwarf. Wielding two daggers, both blades raised, ready to parry.
"Ack, one of those long-legged, long-speared elves... and I forgot the cotton for my ears too!"

Dagger and Dagger in hand, defensive stance.
Initial Positioning:Speed b4 + 2D stance: 6D (someone stole my die from Speed Multiplier...)

Paying customers from all over this continent and the next pack tightly, completely filling The Arena. The annual Championship is underway! Sorcerers float paces above the crowd, the bookies are swamped, and a contingent of trolls just barely avoids eating their neighbors low on the east seating. The announcer speaks, and even amplified by wizardry his words are nearly drowned out by the crowd's cheers! "IN THIS CORNER, Thol the Lost, Dwarven Adventurer Extraordinaire, back from retirement to assert his claim to the prize! Contesting is Acinonyx, Pirate and terror of your father's father's shipping lines! Fight!"

Initial positioning B8: 4, 6, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3, 3 is 2 successes!

Acinonyx pokes her spear toward the dwarf. "Ready, little one?" She takes a few cautious steps back to the crowd's jeering.

"Whatch your steps long-legs, this ain't no ship." The dwarf laughs when he suddently makes a dash to the left. He is surprisingly fast for a dwarf, but hardly a match for the elf. Will the cumbersome spear make the difference in thier attempts at outmaneuvering each other?

Positioning 6D: 2, 5, 4, 1, 2, 2 = 2 successes

What looked like cautious testing of the opponents footwork turned out to be a feint when the dwarf shifted his balance to his right foot and dodged under the elven spear. Before the elf could react he was in close.
The crowd is unstoppable (especially the dwarven crowd). A dwarf just out-stepped an elf!

Using Call-On trait Quick-Step to break positioning tie. We start out in Optimal for all weapons.

Read this before reading volley 1 but maybe after writing your exchange, it's not clear?
I'm bidding 1, 2, 3, 4, or 4 actions for initiative, based on if you bid 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4. Also singing Weathersong tandem to all actions, 'cause a gale is coming. And my initiative bids will cross off later actions first, as legal.

Looks like I'll have to counter-bid four actions (the four last ones of course).

The dwarf and the elf looks each other in the eyes. Time seems to stop.
Then - suddetly - they both move quicker than ever seen before in this arena.

Charge B7+1, +1 speed multiplier, +2 stance, no weapons are being used = B11
5, 6, 2, 6, 6, 1, 5, 1, 5, 6, 3 = 7 successes!
Acinonyx taunts Thol with what must be old pirate songs, then they both sense an opening and charge at each other! The crowd barely has time to react before Thol throws himself at the elf's knees. But Acinonyx is already in the air, and tries to roll over her foe while pushing him the rest of the way to the ground!

Tackle: power 5D + 1D advantage from tackle + 2D stance = 8D: 1, 6, 4, 3, 5, 4, 1, 3 = 4 Successes

Trying to get the elf before she could run away Thol finds himself in the dust.
"Argh! Where'd her legs go?"

As the dust settles the crowd begins to laugh. The sight of the Elf sitting on the back of the dwarf is too much for the dwarven audience to bear, and they turn thier backs on the grotesque display as they go down trying to persuade the bookmakers to deliver back their gold.

Throw: Boxing B4 + 1 spear
5, 4, 6, 3, 4: 4 successes!

"Stay down there, little man!" Acinonyx sllips her spear beneath the panting dwarf, levering him up into her grasp, and spikes him straight back down into the ground at her feet!

Armor - Head: 3D: 6, 4, 4 = 3 Successes (vs. Ob 3)!!!!

The dwarf flies up into the air, falling back down on his head.
The crowd seems to think the fight is over - noone could shake off a hit to the head like that. But wait! They forgot the dwarven helmets (and heads).

Lock B7
4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 2: 3 successes!
Call-on
4, 1, 5, 4: +3 successes = 6 successes!

Closing +1 Ob for me, on the ground +2 Ob for you.

Thol growled and sat up enough to attack as Acinonyx whipped an arm snakelike around his neck and squeezed! The dwarf writhed violently but Acinonyx maintained her grim hold and sang directly into his cotton-free ear.

Natural Defenses against Lock power b5 (+2 ob): 3, 3, 2, 1, 5 = 1 Succes....

I am at your mercy.

"Let me go you elven witch! Or I'll... I'll..." Thol croaked.

"Surrender, dwarf! Do you yield?" Acinonyx waits for several seconds and hefts her spear. Then she stops and grins. Releasing a bit of the pressure on Thol's windpipe, she says, "Arrr, right. There you are. Now: do you yield?"

Thol grumbles, "Yes, damn you. Now let me up!"

Unless you wanted to die and come back as a zombie for subsequent fights!

Thol the Lost and now Defeated clambers to his knees. Pride injured more than body he sulks off (to the bookie to collect the gold he wagered on his opponent, he is a dwarf after all).

Thank you for the fight.

Thank you. Despite appearances, your G7 call-on Add 1 Knife was quite scary.
Acinonyx draws her sword and thrusts both sword and spear into the air, accepting the crowd's cheers. She walks off the sand with a raucous song, as much as such is possible for an elf.
