I realize this may seem a foolish question. I recently purchased this gae on the recomendation of a friend. And to be blunt i fell in love with it before i finished the first chapter. However in the character burner, under the freeman LP under the outcast settings,(I think thats the one) there is a trait called Patis. No amount of looking in dictionaries or even online searching has given me the meaning. All I've discovered was a Quilt Patis, wich seems unlikely and A patis that is an old fish sauce reciept. While this one seems interesting enough I dont see how it would be an applicable trait for a outcast LP. If someone could give me an idea of what it means it'd be a huge help.

Here ya go!
Patis is a french word describing the complex process of extortion that the english freecompanymen harassed the french clergy and townsfolk with during the Hundred Years War. Very similar to what modern mob savvy folk would call a "protection racket." What does this mean to a character? Essentially freecompanymen are very familiar with running schemes and scams that involve the the threat of violence, rape and pillage in exchange for regular payments.

Thanks, thats a huge help! It also answers a curiousity about why it required the soldier life path.
