My wife and I decided to try out Burning Wheel on Saturday at Khubla Con here in the San Francisco Bay Area. She's a big fan of the fantasy genre, whereas I don't care for it so much. Short version is that both of us really liked the game a lot. In fact, I would say that my only disappointment was that the Con program book said that a copy of the game would be given out as a prize to the best role-player, but there wasn't any copies apparently. Bummer. The game was a lot of fun and I hope to see more games at local cons. If I can get the books I'd run one myself. I thank you for a great and very innovative game system and look forward to more from Burning Wheel.

Hi Craig,

Thank you very much for the kind words, Don must have treated you and your wife right!

Terribly sorry about the mix up regarding the books, that is entirely my fault.

However, if you're still game, you can order them here (http://www.burningwheel.org/order.html). The set is only $15, and they are selling fast.

thanks again,
-Luke

I also got to play in Dons game. It was my first experiance with BW (Don sent me a copy a while back but I didn't finish reading it...).

I have to say, I can really see why Don took to this game so much. I was going to be running a Warhammer Fantasy game using another systemm but now I want to do it with BW.

I'm looking forward to the Monster Burner, and would love to see a Modern BW ruleset as well.

I had a great time at a great convention.

We will certain see some California action for the Burning Wheel :D

Thanks for playing guys! I think some tweaking needs to be done and I will be posting an adventure discussion series soon to go over styles and approaches to writing and running adventures, especialy convention games.

Kublacon also drew me to a spiffy miniatures game thta I have begun to play - Wargods of Aegyptus. The world is rich and the minis and the rules exactly what I am looking for (with one minor exception).

As such, anyone interested in helping me work out a Burning Wheel adaptation to Wargods? :D
