A possible errata may be in order. Kintara @ RPG.net pointed out a really interesting interpretation of this sentence, p222:
Players may spend their character’s general points on any skill in
the list. They may also spend general points to purchase any wise
found in the lifepaths.
Meanwhile, way back in the Character Burner under General Points, it says this:
General skill points represent natural talent or additional experience
not detailed in the lifepaths. After all the other points are spent, general
points may be spent to open or advance a skill in the character’s starting
list. More importantly, they may be spent to open and advance any skill
from the general list.
I had thought that you could buy any kind of Wise you wanted with your GPs, that "Whatever-Wise" was the skill from the General List. However, technically speaking, "Wises" as a heading appears outside the General List. This is probably just quibbling, but just in case it isn't -- can you make up Wises with your GPs or are you restricted to Wises that appear in the Lifepaths?
