I condensed stuff about the Analyst and Sisterhood traits and skills like this:

ANALYST- An Analyst may spend a Persona point to shade-shift Perception and all Perception-rooted skills for one scene, or he may spend a Deeds point to double his dice and shade-shift for one test. If the Analyst fails the test he spent artha on, he must pass a Steel test with the Hesitation Obstacle increased by his margin of failure. Should he then fail the Steel test, the Analyst ‘crashes’ and may not call upon his analytical training for a number of minutes equal to the number of actions hesitated.

SISTERHOOD- Simhanada training allows a Virgo to use raw Stats in place of her physical and martial skills, with no Beginner’s Luck / Double Obstacle penalty. She may also spend a Persona point to shade-shift her Observation skill for the purposes of one test. The Sister may also use Linguistics to decipher the meaning of a conversation in a foreign language, via subtle clues in the speaker. Linguistics obstacles are as follows: 1- dialect; 2- same culture but different language; 3- same language family; 4- unrelated language but same planet; 5- different planet.

By use of the Psychology skill upon someone she engages in a legitimate in-game social skill test (successful or not), the Libra may ‘register’ a trait (even an Instinct) of that person. Registration only applies to traits with social implications. Success in the Psychology test allows her to block a call-on trait, negate an obstacle causing trait, or steal the dice from a bonus-causing trait for her own tests against that person. Using the Omphalic Focus trait, the Libra may imprint a person during sexual congress, allowing her to condition the subject to a suggestion word that compels him to Stand and Drool for one action plus extra successes on the initial Psychology test. Registration obstacles are as follows: 2- one character trait; 3- one call-on trait; 4- one die trait; 5- one Instinct; to use Omphalic focus the Obstacle equals the subject’s Will. The Libra may only register one trait per Duel of Wits or other applicable social skill test. Perfect Pitch is another powerful trait used against a registered person, allowing the Sister to use any social skill as a gray shade in a Duel of Wits against the registered subject. When applying Oratory or other social skills upon a crowd, that group must be in earshot and at least one member must be registered with an additional 1 Obstacle for the Psychology test.

In contrast, the Swordmaster, who represents a martial School in the source material, only has a lifepath where having a gray shade Sword skill is requisite. Where does that gray skill come from? Perhaps with the pattern shown above, we could have Swordmaster training be 'spend a Persona point to shade-shift Sword skill for one scene'?

Another question is how would Simhanada stat-for-skill switching be so great an advantage as reflected in the source material, if the Sister's stat is only likely to equal the stat-rooted skill of a foe? Maybe I'm missing something here, because I've not yet played through these characters.

And finally, a Psychology question. Extremely powerful skill, in a game where traits have such impact on play. Does registration imply the Sister must guess on the existence of a certain trait type and then roll for it to see if it's there and registered? What happens if she passes the Psychology test but no unregistered trait of that type exists, does she default to the highest-obstacle trait below that?

You need to buy a Gray Shade sword skill with the character at Character Burning as the requirement. That's what represents the intense training. Buy the exponent of the skill you want and then spend another 5 skill points to shift it to Gray. Or, if you have enough physical points, just buy a Gray Agility instead. Then all Agility-based skills, including Sword, will be Gray.

The ability means there's absolutely no need to spend any skill points on weapons, or any physical skill for that matter. Sisters use their full Agility as their weapon skill and do not suffer from Beginner's Luck. They get incredible flexibility, if not quite the level of depth that a swordmaster gets. Though, if you take the Sister lifepath twice, you can use all the Physical stat bonuses to Gray out your Agility if you want. .

No, you make the trait type you want into your Intent. If you say you want to read a Die trait and the character you're registering has no die traits, then the player or GM of the character you're registering should say so. Then you can make it your intent to register another kind of trait instead.

The Swordmaster LP represents that training school, really. Also, a Swordmaster (unless he is also an Analyst) will have the full use of his Ancestry trait. Not to mention being able to buy both The Killer and Artful Dodger for 1 trait point each.

Sisters are sick. Burn up a 10 LP sister for fun. You'll probably have B6s in all physical stats, and B5s and B6s for nearly every social skill in the game.

As to registering traits, look at the LPs and note the required traits.
