I just got my PDF and after scanning it for a few minutes, I can only say, "WOW."
I've been reading a lot of Lian Hearn lately (I've read the first three Otori tales and am about halfway through the fourth one), and I'm really jonesing to play this. I've cleared my scheduled for next few hours to read it. Hopefully, I'll have something more substantive to post tomorrow. ;)
Thanks to Rich for starting this ball rolling and thanks to the rest of you guys who had a hand in it for making it happen!
I wanted to reiterate what LukeS. posted in another thread that the "The Nail That Sticks Up Is Hammered Down" section on the first page of rules (after the fiction) just NAILS the feel of the setting.
Lots and lots of new terms and concepts to assimilate, but I love the way the rules (from first glance) embody the SPIRIT of the era both in the historical and mythological sense.

I'm about 30% done reading the pdf so far. I just wanted to stop reading for a moment and say how awesome the, for lack of a better word, "questionnaires" in each of the 'burner' sections are (clan burner, temple burner, etc). Really great way of getting players into the setting.

I'm in the lifepaths now, I love all the new wises although I'm not sure I'd trust my group with "young slut-wise"

I'm so happy that my Kid and Lazy Stayabout LPs made it in. *sniff*
They're universal tropes!

I second the OP's statement. The pdf is like filtered 99.9% pure awesome.
I'm loving the tone as I read this. Work productivity has dropped to nearly nothing! Good thing I'm working from home today!
Thanks Luke and Rich! Great stuff.
Thanks guys. We're really glad you like it. Can't wait to see what characters you burn up!

All week I have had nothing to do at work, and the day that I get a project this Baby falls out of the sky (I know, I saw it a long way off, anyways) right when I get a short term deadline. I had to shut it down to get some work down. Now if everyone here would just go home I could print this bad boy.
On the actual product. Very cool. A littlemore explination about what the Burners were going to be would have helped..I spent some time trying to figure out if they were bonues or every one had to answer the same excetra. But one I understood what was going on it clicked nice and loud.
Just finished the Emotional attributes, so cool.

Oh yes, the Emotional attributes are freaking awesome. I knew I was excited about them, just from the little mentioned in the other thread. But, actually reading them.. wow. It's amazing how Honor and Shame mesh together, and how you can be honorable but still bring shame upon yourself. Really cool stuff!

Unfortunately my group just started a new BW game. I'm not sure they'd want to scrap it and play Blossoms right away. i'm not sure I'd want to either, since I want to play my revolutionary!

I am in total agreement. This game is awsome. I have been slowly going through it as both work and another game is taking up time but what I have seen so far is impressive. I'd like to point out the excellent job of capturing the feel of the period without getting too bogged down in complex explinations, e.g. the whole retired Emperor institution.
The first part I looked at (which I do in all rpgs) is the bibliography which is a good introduction, in fact I think wikipedia is an excellent source for gamer reference. I was wondering though where would be the most appropriate place to put short reviews of books that could be used to expand further on certain topics? For example William Farris's book on the rise of the samurai during the Heian period is an excellent source on this topic; should I just list them here or put them on the wiki somewhere?
