Obstacle penalty. I have no problem dropping it, though.

ah, clever. I'd counter the minoris with "it certainly is a big fucking pain in the ass."

I disagree with the use of Instantaneous here. But then again, I have always had a problem with Instaneous being used, in essence, as a cheap way of getting Permanent effect.

The duration of the spell is instantaneous, meaning its effects are here and gone in a instant! To make the effects last, you must use a longer lasting duration, either Actions or Sustained.

And don't use the "permanent effects that happen because of an Instantaneous Destroyer spell" argument with me. Sure, you can wound someone in an instant, but the effect that caused the wound is gone in a flash.

From the abstractions rules:

"If an instantaneous effect spell causes a penalty or modifier to a character (like Lights of St Andrew), that penalty should fade at one step per volley. If a spell causes +4 Ob penalties to a character, the effect fades in four volleys."

One argument I can see is this spell should probably force a test, and the margin of failure from that becomes the ob penalty. Going by other non-Anima tax spells, at least.
