So, other than losing ALL your honor by becoming an outcast (the No Face trait), your honor always increases. A person can never lose a bit of honor.

-but-

Your Shame can always out pace your honor leading to the Quest thingie that your superior can set for you? And shame never decreases...so:

Other than losing ALL your honor, people will always know you for all the honorable things you've done....and people will always know you for all the shameful things you've done, too.

So that superbadass evil Warlord has done many, many shameful things, but people will always know about the honorable stuff he's done as well?

Yes, you always retain your honor. This does not mean that everyone knows you're an honorable man, though. You've still got to prove it, every day.
