Hi all,
After a few months playing around with, and using, the 4-page character sheet I posted earlier I've made a few modifications and reposted it here as v2.1.
(Link removed as v2.2 now available here (http://www.mediafire.com/?bdmdjubk4lt)).
John

(if there is any interest in posting this to the wiki I'd be more than happy, but I'm not sure whether I have permission to do so.)

That's good work so far, everything is well organized, and there is lots of handy info on the sheets.

The only criticism I have at the moment is that I believe you have reversed the meaning of two terms. Relationships are your "permanent stable" that you can bring into play without a roll, Contacts are the people you have circled up previously, but still require a new circles test at +1D to access.

Looks great! I'd like to offer up two criticisms, though...

1. A larger area in which to write beliefs would be helpful. Much larger, in fact.

2. Based on my experience playing the game, with this sheet I'd run out of room for skills being learned after about four sessions. I'd want a larger area for this. In fact, a more economical use of space for the skills section in general would be nice. (Don't get rid of the obstacle chart, though -- I'm constantly referencing that thing when I'm playing...)

Many thanks for the feedback guys, and I'll certainly be taking more of it on board when it's not 22.45 over here. I'll give your posts a re-read when I'm able to think. And form coherent sentences...

That's a beautiful sheet. BTW, when I open it, it says something about being unable to find the font Balthazar.

I agree that you need a lot more room to write and the skills being learned.

Ignore this double post. All the working links are on the next post.

Hi all,
Well, I'm a touch more awake now, so here goes...

Alkiera, Have you managed to open it? I converted the file to a PDF with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 and should open with any version of 5 or greater. As for free PDF readers, there I can't help you. If you're still having trouble, email me and I'll post it to you.

Rafial, yep, you are absolutely right and this will be the first fix.

Ratman45, (and elmago79 too) in terms of a much larger area in which to write beliefs I will see how I can help. Do you think more lines, closer together, would do the trick? As for the limited number of spaces for skills, with the wide variance in the length of skill names (dark underbelly-wise, anyone?) I quite like the roominess of the space to write skills. In terms of using up the sheet quickly, I usually just do another copy and add it to the pile. It's not ideal, I know, but the trade-off between space to write the skills and the number of skills on the page is tricky. What do others feel about the skills page? If there's overwhelming support for more skills over space, I'll certainly take another look at it.

...and lastly, elmago79, I had exactly the same problem on my laptop where Balthazar wasn't installed. I thought I'd embedded the fonts into the document but obviously hadn't. As a workaround, here (www.webpagepublicity.com/free-fonts/b/Balthazar%20Regular.ttf) is the Balthazar font from web page publicity. (http://www.webpagepublicity.com/free-fonts-b.html) I should have this resolved by v2.2.

Again, many thanks for the input.

My suggestion for Skills is separate pages for those known and those being learned. That way you can print out as many of the "Skills being Learned Page" and "Skills you have opened" pages as you'd need.

Other than that, it looks great. I really like incorporating the Fate/Persona/Deeds spent to the attributes. It makes recording test/recording artha spent a lot faster.

Hi Glendower,
Yeah, makes sense. What piece of info that I haven't included so far could go in the gap if i remove the skills being learnt list?

I'd pull advancement off of the combat page, and toss it into the skill listings. That makes the most sense to me, and would be where I'd reference that chart the most.

Hi all,
I've made some of the changes mentioned and re-hosted it here (http://www.mediafire.com/?bdmdjubk4lt) as v2.2.
The specific changes are...
1: Changed around the Aptitude tests for Contacts and Relationships.
2: Doubled the space for Beliefs.

There is, however, a lot of work involved in the skill sheet and I hope you'll bear with me while I think through how I'm going to do it. In the meantime, photocopy the skills sheet for any overflow, and pray silently to the green Goddess of trees for my forgiveness. On the plus side, the only pages which have been altered are pages one and two only.

One thought I've had is the base skills sheet loses the skills being learnt but gains the tests required for skills and stats tables. On subsequent skills pages I'll have a 3/4 column for skills on the left and a full page height 1/3 column for skills being learnt.
Thoughts?
John

Sorry Glendower, read your post after posting mine, but great minds think alike?

I managed to download eventually. Apparently it was an issue related to my proxy at work. When I got home, it was fine.
