The abstractions chapter of the magic burner introduces sigils as modifications to spells after distillation but before leaving the lab. In our group we've been trying out the use of sigils on already completed spells with a slight modification. After application of desired sigils the obstacle of the spell is increased by one due to the variation. This additional obstacle can be removed by "re-distilling" the spell. This process would require casting the modified spell a number of times equal to the caster's perception aptitude, then passing a sorcery test at the obstacle of the spell.
As an example, compression (+1 ob, -50% actions) could be applied to pyrotechnics (3 ob, 8 actions) resulting in a modified spell with 5 ob and 4 actions, which could be reduced to 4 ob and 4 actions by re-distillation.
Thoughts?
