What happens if you pass an Honour/Shame test (either situational or brought on by a feat)? I didn't quite get the point of making these tests and what their result was. Are high obstacles good or bad for these tests?

Hi Galadrin,

I'm not 100 percent sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a shot.

Honor and Shames tests are not tests you pass or fail. You simply record them for Advancement purposes. Take a look at Advancing Honor on p131 and Advancing Shame on p136.

Does that answer your question?

That pretty much answers it, thanks! I wasn't sure if these tests were both to accomplish something AND to advance the exponent (like skills) or whether they were just to advance the exponent.

So there is no other way to actively use shame or honour, other than for advancement? Could I test honour to avoid doing something dishonorable, or test shame "to allow myself" to indulge?

Oh, there are plenty of ways to use them! Check out Using Honor on p130 and Using Shame on p136.
