I havent heard of this but is there any rules for enchanting your equipment/ Or does anyone have some tips on how they do it?
May your swords stay sharp! :D

Under development as far as I understand.
Me, personally have been using a combination of in game events enchanting the item, e.g. Tengel's Sword and items with history e.g. The Herald's Hammer.
How does this work?
Basically GM fiat.
These following examples are from my campaign, some background posted here:http://www.burningwheel.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=310, Actual Play can be found over at the Forge.
In game enchantment:
Tengel's Sword was first used to cut through the Hooded One's magical shield (TAB) and then a short while later it was plunged into the mouth of a stone-troll. When Tengel then recovered the sword he found that it carried an unnaturally sharp edge.
Game speak it now has VA 3.
Item with History:
The Herald's Hammer was the weapon of the Herald of Ram Mithren, and was over the years engraved with runes to commemorate the battles the Herald fought for his king.
The Grudge Rune of Ram Mithren: Inscribed after the trolls came to Miranna and the Herald had to fight his way through scores of these beasts. (game effect: Add 1 weapon vs trolls)
The Breaking Rune: The Heralds of old were strong and doughty dwarfs and the hammer carries this strength still. (game effect: Power 4 weapon).
The Rune of Endless Battles: As the hammer was handed down through generations its bearers imbued their skill in its haft, aiding its bearer in the battles to come (game effect: open ended dice).
The Hammer though, is jealous, and its bearer can use no other weapon or the Hammer will grow sullenand dull. And woe to any non-dwarf that tries to wield it. (The jealous effect led to Gorin, the carrier of the hammer having to open the Hammer skill and neglect his B6 axe skill, without prompting may I add).
Ruleswise I turned to the elven Sword-song and used effects from there. This is a good stop-gap measure that alows you to control the magical weapons that allways eem to be lying around and lends itself greatly to creating a backstory for the weapon.
Instead of the mass produced sword +2 that always seem to lie about.
As a side-note, a third character joshua, has been given the Sword of King Mikail, a non-magical blade of superior quality that he uses not for its stats but because he taught the King Sacrifice and it carries sentimentl value to him. A prime target for growth akin to Tengel's blade.
And snce my last session Tengel's blade might be gaining a darker edge.
(shamless teaser for a game post that won't be posted until I return from vacation)
